Another challenging perspective from Graham Le Sar…
“Through working with Graham, I was able to get clarity on what I really want my life to be about and shine a light on what was blocking me at a deeper level. This allowed me the space to question my old and outdated beliefs, decisions and assumptions in a safe space and either discard or re-evaluate them. This truly was a journey of self-discovery that allowed me to proceed at my own pace and let my life unfold in its own unique way. Today I know that I really do ‘play in a safe playground.” – Chris Nel – Managing Director: The Guru Hut

It seems to me that the political trend in Southern Africa is shifting from Democracy to Extortocracy.
Once a leader has been democratically elected he seems sees himself as president for life and nothing short of extortion will shift him…
Being democratically voted into office seems to be a licence to rape and pillage the country four ways from Sunday with little or no accountability to ‘pay back the money’.
Take Uncle Bob for example. Since coming to power in 1980, it is estimated that 93 year old Robert Mugabe’s has amassed a staggering net worth of R1.3 billion. His assets include a mansion in Hong Kong (R56-million); a 25 bedroom mansion in Zimbabwe (R138-million); an English palace (R660-million); a German Mercedes Benz S600L (R16-million); the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Co.; a diamond ring (R18-million) and an exclusive vintage Rolls-Royce Phantom IV probably worth more than Zimbabwe’s entire GDP.
One can only speculate where the money came from?
Yet despite the apparently looted millions, the price of freedom from Mugabe’s 37 year death grip on power is outrageous…
Among his demands were a dignified exit; full immunity from prosecution for him & his extension cord wielding wife; the retention of all his private properties; a $10 million lump sum payment, $5 million on exit and the remaining $5 million paid in instalments; medical cover; security for himself and his family and protection of his private properties as well as enjoying the benefits of being an ex-president, including a retirement package that includes a pension equal to what he was earning as a sitting president (R258 000 per month), housing, holiday and transport allowance, health insurance, limited air travel and security.
And, in the event of his death, his wife will be given half salary every month… disgraceful!
South of the Limpopo we trusting South Africans are about to embark on an equally disgraceful ‘greedfest’ as the ‘negotiations’ to oust our own political crook spiral down.
Who really knows what Comrade JZ is really worth and where his money really came from: Nkandla, State Capture, Arms deal, and so much more institutionalised corruption that we, as yet haven’t even scratched the surface of.
But the pattern seems to hold true…
Among our own hopefully-Future-ex-Presidents demands are a host of outrageous conditions including state-guaranteed safety for himself and his sprawling extended family, that his security detail remain in place and that his legal fees for current and future legal matters are paid for by the people of South Africa.
The Spy Tapes case alone are estimated to have cost R30 million or more in legal fees, and he has arguably more than 700 other legal wrangles ahead of him, prompting a prominent Opposition politician remarked that if Zuma wants maximum security, he should take up residence at a maximum security state-funded prison…
The end of Zumagate remains to be seen, and what will follow in its wake we can only speculate about right now.
The future is always hidden, but your place in it is, as always up to you. You can be part of the problem or part of the solution.
How about you?
